Jackfruit

               Scientific name : Artocarpus heterophylus  
         
                             Jackfruit is  national fruit of Bangladesh. It is one of the largest fruits to grow on trees in the world. It grows in plenty on the hilly areas of Chittagong and Sylhet and on the highland of Dhaka, Mymensingh, Comilla and Jessore. Beside these, it grows in India, Srilanka, Burma and Brazil.
   
                        In addition to its nutritional value Jackfruit in Bangladesh is viewed as delicious, sweet, tasty and juicy, and many Bangladeshis use Jackfruit in their curries. We get vitamin “A” and “C”. Jackfruit seeds are extremely high in Vitamin “B1”and Vitamin “B2”. The seeds also have very high starch content, but are quite low in the presence of iron and calcium. Jackfruit is in great demand with the common people. The price is comparatively cheap. Beside this, it can be served as a food. I like Jackfruit very much.

                                  Mango is regarded as the queen of fruits in tropical areas of the world. one of the most important and widely cultivated fruits of the tropical world, considered indigenous to eastern Asia, Myanmar (Burma). The tree is long-lived, some specimens being known to be 300 years old and still fruiting.
   
             “The king of the fruits”, mango fruit is one of the most popular, nutritionally rich fruit with unique flavor, fragrance, taste, and heath promoting qualities making it a common ingredient in new functional foods often called “super fruits”. 
 
                Most famous types of mangoes usually found in Bangladesh can be named as.Langra, Fajli, Amropali, Sindhi . Fresh mango is a very rich source of potassium. Potassium is an important component of cell and body fluids that helps controlling heart rate and blood pressure.

         Delicious and juicy Lychee or "Litchi" reminds the arrival of summer. Litchis, not only eye-catching in spring when the huge sprays of flowers adorn the tree but also is a stunning sight for nature lovers when the tree is full of berries.
                                      Its outer surface is covered with rough leathery rind or peel featuring pink color. The peel can be easily removable in the ripe fruits. Inside; consists of edible portion or aril that is white, translucent, sweet and juicy.

         Litchi, is an excellent source of vitamin C and also contains a very good amount of minerals like potassium and copper. The fruit has sweet, fragrant flavor and delicious to savor.


Banana

                             English name    : Banana
                             Scientific name : Musa sapientum

              Although banana are year round fruits but it  is  mainly eaten in summer. Banana is the first  popular tropical fruit. Banana is a perennial herbaceous plant. Structurally, fruit has a protective outer skin and delicious, sweet and tart, creamy white color edible flesh inside.

       Plantains are cultivars types, more often used as cooking bananas. Most of the people unripe banana used as vegetable. Some times unripe banana used as medicine for some patients.

            Banana fruit is rich in calories, but very low in fats. The fruit contains good amounts of health benefiting anti-oxidants, minerals, and vitamins.  It is also a very good source of vitamin-B6 and vitamin-C. 

  Bael

                      English name    :  Wood apple 
                      Scientific name : Aegel mermelos
   
   
            Bael is a small, deciduous, smooth tree .
   Recently introduced to the Philippines .Native of Australia. Also reported in India and Srilanka . Bael is baseball sized fruit with a very hard skin and sticky pulp that is highly aromatic. Bael fruits are eaten many parts of the world but medicinal value are more than its taste.

   

         Flesh is eaten raw or processed into drinks  or flavoring Which is very helpful for our body.Fruit pulp are sometimes used as a detergent and adhesive.  Ripe pulp are used as digestive  aid and a laxative. Unripe pulp are used  to treat  diarrhea and dysentery.







Watermelon

                  English name     :  Watermelon
                  Scientific name  :  Citrullis lanatus

                 
                Watermelon is grown in over 96 countries worldwide.  A variety of melon thought to be originally from Africa. Watermelon can be round, oblong or spherical. Its usually red flesh is sometimes white, yellow or pink. It contains smooth seeds that may be black, brown, white, green, yellow or red. Some varieties are seedless.The sweet taste of watermelon is often paired with the salty taste of feta cheese. Watermelon is 92% water . Watermelon is an ideal health food because it doesn't contain any fat or cholesterol, and is an excellent source of vitamins A; B6 & C.
                                                                                                                                                                 

 
             Watermelon is eaten plain, in slices or quarters, cut into chunks or balls. It is used in fruit salads or cooked into jam after removing the seeds. Pureed watermelon is made into sorbet or a delicious juice that is the basis of a widely enjoyed Russian wine. Unripe watermelon is used in the same way as summer squash. Watermelon seeds are edible. In some areas of Asia and China, they are eaten plain, roasted or salted, sometimes milled for use in making bread.

Pineapple

English name    : Pineapple
Scientific name :Ananus comosus
            

 Pineapple is the second most popular tropical fruit. The word "Pineapple," is derived from the word pina, which was used to describe a pine cone by the Spanish. There are four types of pineapples mainly found in the marketplace , such as Gold, smooth Cayenne, Red Spanish and Sugar Loaf. They are sold fresh and canned and all have a sweet flavor.
        
                   The Gold variety features an extra sweet flavor, golden color, and higher vitamin C content and can be eaten raw or used in cooking. Pineapple has minimal fat and sodium with no-cholesterol. Delicious, healthy and nutritious. It can also used for making juice



Papaya

                          Scientific name  : Carica papaya

             

     
                                  Papaya is believed to have originated from Mexico and it's neighboring Central American countries. Papayas are generally classified into Hawaiian or Mexican. The papaya fruit is green when young and turns yellow when ripe and the flesh varies in color from bright orange, yellow to pinkish. A properly ripened papaya fruit taste sweet and juicy. It contains papain that helps digestion and is good at tenderizing meat. The hollowed part of the fruit contains edible seeds. 
               
                                       Papaya is good for balanced nutrition and it contains carbohydrates, Vitamin A, lots of C, Calcium, Iron and fiber that is good for the digestive system and the heart. Papaya also contains other vitamins and minerals like: Niacin, Foliate, Vitamin E, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium, lipids and amino acids.

Guava

 English name   : Guava
 Scientific name :   Psidium sativum   

             The Guava tree is an evergreen tree .The Guava Fruit can be round, or pear-shaped. The skin is green, usually ripening to yellow. Some varieties have thin skin and many seeds inside; others will have thick skin and few seeds. Inside, the fruit can be white, yellow, pink or red. Some Guava Fruit are sweet.
It can be  eaten as fresh or cook with. If eaten raw, owing to the seeds Guava Fruit are better seeded and then chopped or sliced as a dessert or in a fruit salad.


Blackberry

                       Common name  : kalo Jam
                       English name    :  Blackberry
                       Scientific name :  Belamcanda chinensis
   
          
           Jam is a common fruit. In our country, Black Berry (Kalo Jam) is seen to be produced and sold in market. The season of the fruit is May to June. The soft fruit is popular for use in desserts, jams, seedless jellies etc. The blackberry naturally occurs chemicals that can up regulate certain beneficial metabolic processes in mammals. The astringent blackberry root is sometimes used in herbal medicine as a treatment for diarrhea and dysentery. 

Pomegranate

English name    : Pomegranate
Scientific name : Punica granatum  
    
  Pomegranate fruit is known as Dalim fal. Nutritious and popular fruit. Dalim is favorite to the people because of its sweet and delicious deep colored juice with a rich flavor. Luxurious people grown Dalim in their garden to enhance beauty. But though it is not so cultivated in our country, its availability is not so bad. Everybody can get the fruit in their local market or shop.
